If you, or anyone you live with, develop any symptoms of COVID-19, however slight, please reschedule your lesson (either 7 or 14 days later depending on who has symptoms) You will not be charged for the lesson. If I turn up and you have symptoms the lesson will not go ahead and you will be charged. Cancellations for any other reason will still need 48 hours notice as per the T’s & C’s below.
The DVSA operating procedures are recommending masks to be worn on lessons. It is going to be mandatory on all driving tests. Face visors could increase risk of injury in an accident so won’t be permitted. If you have your own mask or face covering please wear it to your lesson, if not one will be provided.
Windows will need to be open to increase airflow in the car so please bear this in mind when choosing what to wear. If you wear clothes that fully cover arms and legs it can reduce the risk of infection.
Please wash your hands just before you leave the house for your lesson. I will also ask you to use hand sanitiser before entering the car. If you have any allergies please let me know.
When I arrive for your lesson I will need a few minutes to clean the car and will have hand sanitiser ready for you before you touch anything. If you want to wear gloves please put them on just before you get in the car.
Track and Trace. I am obliged to share your information (name and telephone number) if I’m contacted by the track and trace service. Please let me know if you DO NOT give permission for this. The downside of this is that I will be in close contact with many people in the course of a week. If I’m advised to self isolate, all lessons will have to be postponed for the 2 weeks. I’m really hoping this doesn’t happen so please don’t attend your lesson if you, or anyone you’re in close contact with feels unwell.
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change and will be regularly reviewed as the situation develops.
STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
At least 48 hours notice must be given for any cancellation or the lesson will be charged for. Occasionally I may need to rearrange a lesson. I will always try to give as much notice as possible and rearrange at your convenience.
Clients must attend lessons fit to drive, free from alcohol, recreational drugs and medication that affects the ability to drive. Any suspicion otherwise may result in cancellation of the lesson and loss of fee.
All lessons must be paid for on the day unless prior agreement has been made. For block bookings, full payment must be received prior to the commencement of the course. Refunds for block booking payments are available up to three months after the date of payment. If a client ceases lessons before a block booking is completed, the lessons which have been taken will be charged at the normal lesson rate and this will be reflected in the refund payment. If lessons cease for a period of more than 12 weeks without requesting a refund then remaining lessons will be forfeit.
I will do my utmost to ensure that lessons start and finish on time. However, due to the nature of traffic and inexperienced drivers, delays may sometimes occur. I will notify you if I am likely to be more than 10 minutes late and the time will be added onto the end of the lesson or carried forward to the next lesson at your convenience. If you are late for a lesson the time will be lost.
In the interests of public safety and the safety of examiners, I reserve the right to withhold the use of a training vehicle for the driving test if I consider the client's standard of driving not up to test standard.
Usually lessons will start and finish at the same location. I’m happy to pick up and drop off at a different location, just let me know at the beginning of the lesson. However, depending on location I may need extra travelling time to get to the next appointment, in which case the lesson may have to finish a little earlier.
